Biography
Marco Martalò is Associate Professor in Telecommunications at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Cagliari, Italy, and a member of the Networks for Humans (Net4U) laboratory since December 2020. His research focuses on wireless networks, distributed signal processing, and low-complexity communication algorithms for next-generation networks and the Internet of Things, with particular interest in trustworthy localization, network security, and digital twin-enabled applications. He has authored more than 130 scientific publications in international journals and conferences, with an h-index of 18 (Google Scholar), and is co-inventor of two patents and proposer of an IETF draft.
He has coordinated and contributed to several national and European research projects on IoT, location-based services, and digital twins. Prof. Martalò serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Networking Letters, and IEEE Access, and is General Chair of the IEEE MeditCom 2026 conference. He is Secretary of the Italian Chapter of the IEEE Communications Society and regularly serves on the organizing and technical programme committees of major international conferences. He is an IEEE Senior Member.
